About Terry Turner
Terry Turner was born in Preston, Idaho and moved to Putnam County at age 7 where he was raised in Palatka. He started working as a teenager on ranches in East Palatka and Rodman.
Terry later began working for the Florida Department of Agriculture testing cattle for infectious diseases. At age 26, Terry Turner began working in the roofing business. He has worked in the roofing business for over 35 years and is currently the President of Armstrong Roofing and Armstrong Contracting Services, both based in Putnam County.
Terry has served as Chairman of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Putnam County Planning Commission, and Chairman of the Putnam County Code Enforcement Board. He has also served as President of the Florida Roofing, Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors Association (FRSA).
In 2017 Terry Turner was appointed Putnam County Commissioner by Governor Rick Scott. During his tenure Terry has focused his efforts on economic development, public safety, and making government more efficient and effective.
Terry lives in San Mateo with his wife, Laura. Laura is the former President of Merrill, Hancock and Turner Insurance and former Publisher of the Putnam County Courier-Journal. Terry has two children and three grandchildren.
